I've been getting more serious about in a sense of prepping and have been going on ruck humps more after I got out of the marines. I know I sounded drunk and even I laughed reading that. Thank you.

I am a bit of a weight weenie myself but, because I spend a lot of my time on the eastern slopes of the Rockies west of Calgary, you really need the bear spray. Unlike the west coast mountains, bears are very food stressed. Encounters are not common but the bear spray has made a difference for a lot of folks around this part of the world. Bear bangers are not useful especially in narrow canyons. leave them behind.

Thank you for the useful tips. I'm starting my first back packing trip to New Zealand in October. I wonder if they ever thought about creating a stock that would hold 1 or 2 BX-25 mags... This was a great video. I think an important point is that bushcrafting (and the associated tools like hatchets and saws) has no place on any trail used by the general public. For example, if everyone who hikes the AT would cut down a sapling to make a walking stick, tent stakes, etc., there would soon be no more saplings within a mile of the trail. With that said, on trails through wilderness areas, a minimal amount of survival equipment on your body will save your life if you and your equipment should get soaked in a river crossing, you get off trail (like that woman who died in 2013 while hiking the AT) or if you lose your backpack (from theft or simply not being able to find it. That happened to me in the Mojave desert. I ran out of water 20 miles from my jeep. I stopped to sleep through the heat of the day. When i woke up i was so thirsty that i wandered away from my camp to find a barrel cactus. I found the cactus and it saved my life. However, I could not find my camp. I made the decision to head for my jeep with just the clothes on my back and my folding knife. When i made it to the road, two gas line workers gave me some water and later a deputy sheriff gave me a ride back to my jeep. The next day I headed back to the desert (with a lot of water! to look for my gear. After two days of looking I gave up (drones were not widely available at that time. To this day, my Kelty backpack and all the gear in it is still somewhere between the Old Woman and Turtle mountains. This all happened many years ago. If I did not have my knife to cut open cactus, I would have died in the desert. This is what I carry on my person for survival purposes: 1. A paracord bracelet with jute string dipped in candle wax woven into it (as a waterproof fire starting tinder) and a small fire steel and striker as a buckle. 2. A space blanket in my pocket (to wrap around myself if i need to dry my clothes and can be used to carry water) 3. A knife (I prefer a small neck knife. For those of you into survival lore, this covers Dave Canterbury's 5 C's: cordage (The paracord in the bracelet) cover (space blanket) container (space blanket) cutting (neck knife) combustion (jute cord, fire steel, and striker in bracelet) Furthermore, I suggest making a couple of bracelets (there are plenty of YT videos on how to do this) so you have an extra to practice with.

Curious, 1. how long is the barrel on the takedown, 2. was the nfa tax for the silencer only or also a sbr (short barrel rifle. Nice review on a great gun. I purchased a suppressed 10/22 Ruger by Yankee Hill Machine with an integral barrel suppressor. It is extremely quiet, accurate and fun to shoot.

You didn't say Gorlami! Lol. I like to carry a small flashlight and a small headlamp (single AAA battery for each) when hiking at night. Together they are as bright as I want them to be, provide the redundancy that I want, and are light enough that I don't notice the weight. Will the x22 backpacker fit the new ruger 10/22 lite model and will the optic mount fit over a bull barrel.

I live in Ontario, everyone who is smart about backpacking brings bear spray or at LEAST has a bell. first trip I did we saw three bears, two of which we needed to spook off the trail. Not sure what your bears are like down south, but ours are hungry and dont mind getting close to people. Not saying one will kill you but could for sure get into your gear or attack you. Coyotes can also be a problem. We also have every aggressive moose, and bear spray might not stop a fully charging bull, but it just might, which would save your life. Hacksplaining: Learn to Hack. This is really nice. I got one, but in stock form. Thanks for the video. I feel like this rifle with the volquartsen firefly 10/22 bolt would be potentially at 100 or less db! Would love to see you do a review of that bolt specifically in this backpack rifle with the GEMTECH MIST-22.

These where all really great tips - thanks so much. I totally agree with the 'bring less' rule. I'm naturally a minimalist and i thought i packed light. now i realised i packed way too much! I'm trying to figure out how to cheapy send it back home haha! I never realized how organised packing needed to be until I had to be super careful with what i pack and take with me :P If you get chance, I make travel videos and share my journey of working online and traveling full time. Also I love your packing cubes and how you have a place for everything! It's great to be so organised. I was wondering if you have any gear, that I could buy. My biggest need is a shelter.

I love my Magpul backpacker stock. I hope they make one for the PC9 carbine. Never wrote a comment on youtube, but I think Im in love, Let me know if you come to Brasil. Every night I watch your program, keep up the good work. Skilled professional 😂. Thats the coolest little rifle and the cocking sound is so satisfyng. Why the hell do conservatives continue to use YouTube? We need a mass exodus to a new platform. Great video and thanks for the valuable info.

I just purchased a ruger just like this. it's by tactical solutions, very nice fluted bull barrel (super lightweight material) with the backpacker stock and lots of other upgrades, cost about 800.00 but it's an amazing and very lightweight 10/22 takedown. What do you use to to tack your data for humping. I'm starting to do it more. just got outta the usmc. Marry meee. Yeah, they're a European company. REI sells one or two of their trail runners. I'm leaving again next year for 6 months around SE Asia, this time I'm definitely not packing more then 40l of stuff. You just got a new subscriber 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍.

Ditching a 2oz backup firestarter and 4oz backup light that could save your life, but you carry a osprey pack instead of a lightweight pack you could save pounds on. One thing that you definitely should take is duct tape (not a whole full size roll though. Duct tape has saved a trip for me more than once.

Thinking to use your cell phone light in an emergency, means quickly draining the battery of your emergency communication device.

That's a bitchin' little set-up, and I'm a 10-22 hater, had 3 in the past, nothing but jamm after jamm, but I might have to break down & copycat you on THIS one. Too cool! Thanks for your XLNT video. I have the other Magpul 10/22 Stock though. I can't believe how much better my hiking trips to the mall are now. Plus I hardly ever get questioned by security with the smaller packs and minus the Rambo knife.

Neat Set-up! I like it. Rambo knife and bow! Lol. Instead of a hand saw, or a hachet, cable saw. BAM, problem solved. Tiny and effective, way lighter and more compact. The cellphone aspect, yeah sure you can do all that but it's a battery drainer, and it's much wiser to save that battery incase you're in trouble and can reach service to make a call. not only that but many phones without service can still access GPS. I think you should do a video comparing the dB levels on all the different integrally suppressed barrels for the ruger 10/22. But you have your videos on 9mm and. 223 dB levels on cans, and you may have one on. 22lr but all those are screw on cans, I would love to see which integrally suppressed ones are best. Very neat 22 survival rifle. I had a Gerber multi-tool but it got stolen. I now have a Swiss Army Knife Champ, it is their top of the range and it has a lot of stuff that I find useful. I usually carry 2-3 lighters but I also carry a ferro rod as backup and some round cotton makeup pads that were dipped in melted candle wax. The good thing about the wax dipped pads it that they are water proof unless they have been ripped/folded. Just shake the excess water off and use them to start a fire. They act like a wide candle that burns hotter than a small candle but not as long.

Some of that extra gear is meant to deal with the rare event, not the ones you're likely to encounter. Optimizing is about making yourself more efficient. But optimization and efficiency sacrifice adaptability. While on well-traversed trails (JMT, PCT, etc.) it's easier to adapt by getting help from others. But in true backcountry areas or off-trail situations where people may or may not be anywhere near, you need to carry more gear for self-rescue situations, even if they are rare. I've also started on a trail hike, lost the trail for the rest of the day and had to self-rescue out due to unforeseeable events. So that trail hike turned to an involuntary off-trail hike. If you already have, I can't find it. I just carry a Tampon. I can dry off with it. I can start a fire with it... Great video! Very informative. War Eagle. Spot on commentary. Amazing video, it has been so heart warming to see you progressing like FROM INDIA, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK☺.

What barrel is on this 10/22 take down. Its not stock is it

Nice bro... If I travel the world for a year as a backpacker, how large backpack should I have. So funny! Thank you for the enjoyable tips. It always feels good to see people who follow their dreams... whereas I am stuck in a 9-5 job in a few more years. then I am gonna break free great advice. keep us posted. glad I subbed. but the host is jaw droppingly beautiful and knows her shit well. u gotta sub... Lol. backpackers are what we call tourists from other countries... I was like. They bring knives and axes. I know this is about a 2 year old video but does anyone know the best city to stay in or a best backpacking route for South East Asia? i'm planning a solo trip next year and really want to make the most of it.

I never go anywhere far from civilization with out my work desk Vice and the desk as well... I know that my waffle iron is a luxury item, but I love my waffles in the morning. Word Zone - The Friendship Community. I'm going to Europe in July and I'm think I'll bring one pair of jeans and one pajama pants idk about yoga pants tho cause I love them and they're comfortable but I'm traveling solo I don't want it to hurt me in a way if you know what I mean And then 2 shirts 2 jacket 1 running shoes 1 toms I don't think I'll need accessories Hair ties are very important I'll bring a bunch of them Also idk about you but I'm bring at least 10 underwear 1 sport bra 1 brallet I wanna bring my own coconut oil toothpaste but I'm not sure how to pack it Wipes (come in plastic package I'm sorry I'm trying to find a replacement but so far nothing) Deodorant that I still own from before Hair brush of course Toothbrush My own straw/spoon/fork Produce bag Notebook Pencil Water bottle Eyelash curler Lip balm My own electrics and chargers and all Umbrella just in case A book I think that's it What do you think I need advice this is my first time traveling solo, vegan, as a minimalist, and I'm Couchsuffing. Thank you Great video btw.

I really enjoyed the vid, but I had to laugh because I carry every item on that list. Been backpacking for the past 15 years and my pack still weighs about 50lbs. I only ever go out for 2 to 4 days at a time, no through hiking, but I should take some of your advice. Thanks. WOW thats an amazing backpacking bag.

I have backpackers hostel in india. Send it to Whitehorse Ducharme. Can you get in the 17 hr. Some of this stuff was laughable. I don't take a camp chair with me even when I drive into a camping spot. Can't believe it was even on the list. Now for my opinion. The things you better have with you are as follows: 1) Ability to make a fire. That means at least two butane lighters AND water proof matches. Building a fire allows you to keep warm, keep animals like bears away, signals for help at night AND you can add leaves and damp wood to it to signal for help during daylight hours! Oh yeah, and a flint and steel is a good with some steel wool that can start a fire from sparks. 2) Ability to make a shelter. What happens if you somehow loose your backpack? The solution is to carry a good quality Swiss Army Knife (Victorinox Huntsman. The Huntsman SAK has a saw that will cut small pieces of wood. Add some decent twine (kevlar string) and you can build a small shelter. 3) Ability to treat wounds on the trail. The Swiss Army Knife is a great instrument for this. Two sharp blades to make precision cuts. Plus the scissors. and the tweezers to pull splinters. 4) Small bandages, sewing kit (to sew nylon straps that break and POSSIBLY as a means of sewing a serious wound closed (ouch. An antiseptic wipe. and perhaps most importantly MOLE SKIN to treat the blisters on your feet. 5) Ability to signal for help. We already covered fire-making. So, yes, you DO need more than one flashlight. If you can't build a fire, you can possibly use a flashlight to signal for help at night(s. Sometimes you have to bug-out of your campsite in the dark, and if your only flashlight fails, then you are not going to be happy. 6) Water purification tablets (iodine tablets) and a canteen. You can go for days without eating. But you need to stay hydrated. Even going one day without water can lead to some very serious health issues. You need to find sources of water AND be able to make it drinkable. 6b) A whistle! Get a good quality one. Again, it's all about signalling for help. We covered visual signalling with fire, smoke, flashlights. A whistle allows you to signal your distress audibly. Your vocal chords will give-out after about 2 hours of yelling and screaming. A whistle can be heard for a mile or more. 7) Compass. Knowing how to move in a more or less straight line/direction is crucial. (A good topical map too.) 8) Pocket survival kit. I used to make these out of tin Band Aid boxes, but now I use the more compact Aluminum RFID wallets. These will have things like a razor blade, smaller flint and steel, smaller bandages, needle and thread. It's like a condensed list of things I listed can fit inside a shirt pocket. 9) Bright colored (fluorescent) clothing. A hat, tee shirt, handkerchief/bandana. You're going to carry these things with you anyways - you might as well have something that can be SEEN from a distance if you need to signal for help. 10) A topo map. (Already mentioned with compass.) Having an idea of where you are and the terrain you are facing is a very good idea. It will also tell you how far it is to the next road, as well as buildings/structures and things like fire towers and streams for getting water. Many of the items I mention can fit in your shirt and coat don't even need a backpack. and, I would highly suggest you have these things with you AT ALL TIMES. even during a planned short hike. I have personally been lost in the forest late in the day and it's a mighty unsettling feeling when you don't know where you are and the sun starts to set and the air begins to get much, much cooler. Being able to build a fire for warmth and signal for help is a comforting thought.

I love your tooth gap You remind me of Melanie Martinez I love Melanie Edit: omg your Canadian too, I get so happy when I find a youtuber who lived in Canada or is canadian because its hard to find them and I feel like I have more in common with them since Im canadian too. EXELANT,parfait, very good. So helpful. Im planing my first trip and Im so nervous. Sweet set up. Some good tips, while i'd personally never ditch some items (ferro rod, spare batts for headlamp, multi tool and good fixed blade) if you carry items EDC, weight wont mean much to you on trail. You could take a tough heavy duty spoon for digging, and of course you can wash it with some eco-friendly soap before eating with it. What an intro. beautiful girl with a beautiful personality. I find that CCI Stingers and the new CCI Copper 22 (1,800 fps! are the most reliable rounds for the 10/22, Mini Mags definitely do great but I have had one or two malfunctions with them, not one with the Stingers or Copper 22s but you definitely pay for it. Awesome setup, great video review on it, thinking of ordering that stock.👍. Nice video. Any chance you can do a comparison between this rifle and the henry arms takedown survival rifle. Why the Magpul red dot mount over the factory rail that comes with the rifle. Now make a ar stock like that. youll have a amazing survival rifle. Just came across this video. Great video. You are lucky getting to do that in shorts. It is another thing entirely doing that in a few feet of snow and -40 weather. I am in the process of breaking in a new to me French Army F1 large rucksack. The thing is tough as old boots and surprisingly comfortable. I have The Henry 22 Survival Rifle. Barrel Trigger Housing. 2 Mags Fits into The Buttstock. Its Pretty Cool! Have a Good One. Heading to South America for 5 1/2 months starting in January, the packing less is something I will have to keep reminding myself. That is a really nice little set up. Thanks for sharing. Marco.

Hey I'm going interraling do you think a 50 litres backpack is enough for 1 month in Europe. Excellent! Just my experience, i camped for about 50 years, and this is the best way to get rid of weight. Can you say “Lie”. About what is an estimate on this rifle as it sits in this video I am looking for a great backpack rifle.

There are newer models with color topo maps you can upload. What I like is they double as a walkie-talkie- no, not secured- but, with freqs compatible with standard Motorola hand helds, and they can send current location reports/way points to other Garmins on your frequency. Good for emergencies.

I train at night also with a full pack about 2 to 3 times a week. I start around 8:30 pm in the afternoon and get home around 6:00 am in the morning. I walk around 10 to 15 miles, sometimes more or less depending on how tired I get. I nibble on trail mix as I go and stop for one good meal at a park with my stove. I do this all winter also no matter how cold ! I agree with you, a lot of talkers and no doer's ! Love your video's.

The Axe or hatchet / saw is only usefull when doing Bushcraft. Where you can use it to create a shelter, collect wood for prolonged fire etc. Good video. I'm going to Juneau, Alaska. This was super helpful as a beginner. I appreciate the tips. So you mentioned an axe or a pocket knife but why not one large fixed blade knife? sure the individual weight of the item may be off-putting, but my large knife acts as a food processor a wood processor self defense item hunting tool trowl pretty much use it for everything, I'd be interested in seeing you carry a large fixed blade for one through hike, just to see how it'd perform for you.

I love your dog's photobombs. very entertaining. Your tips are super helpful

And, roger. I was up in the mountains only to discover how the elevation can really affect performance. I'm trying to get up there more. There are vast stretches of the PCT fairly accessible to train on. Personally, I need to focus on foot endurance, cardio efficiency at elevation, and building climbing muscle. There's a world of difference between 25-30 lbs and 50-55 lbs. Definitely feel the muscle build with 50 more-so than 30. I try to vary it up week to week. I'm not consistent enough.

Benchmade makes a pocket knife designed for light weight hiking called the 535 bugout. Superlight, durable, and more than adequate for a thruhike. A good metaphor for life this, Dixie! Also one tip from Scotland - I, like you, always use a rubble bag as a liner, but I always use a coloured bag rather than a black one - FAR easier to find things in. Dang! That's a pretty slick setup you got there, very innovative. That gemtech barrel really shortens it up compared to adding a can, and magpul really did a good job with that stock. On another note we need to get rid of the NFA, hope the hearing protection act will be the first step. Where do you buy this setup. Do you have a complete package of exactly how you have your 1022 set up.

Cool rifle but without backup iron sights it is questionable as survival rifle. Gotta get that auto bolt release mod done. Takes 15 minutes with a file and it's how the gun should have been designed. Marlin papoose is better :p. Honestly? Marlin Papoose. Doing laundry in the sink sucks 😕. So my red alaskin in 44 is a. Waste of 3 lb. Beutiful. The first thing I would ditch is that Auburn fleece. Also, your dog seems to have weighed in on your content. 1:41. Where can I buy a ruger 10 22 receiver. Great survival rifle is the Henry AR -7. Action, bbl, 3>8 round magazines all fit INSIDE the stock & it FLOTES. Has both peep & reversable V notch sights.

I never go hiking without a 6 volt lantern battery. Small but deadly. Wait. Who carries the beer. Cool vid and Very cool backpack or survival weapon by Ruger. ✨22's have that great Cycle Rate; plus extra mags in da stock, juz n case!👍 Your shirts R 🔥. Forum: Available Cheats & Hacks - SystemCheats. When you travel with that backpack, how you protect it from being stole or open in the moment you take the airplane. I'd love to see how well it can group. I love your accent! I know it's not heavy but I love it. Keep smiling as you always are, Good luck for the future. After 6 years in the marine corps infantry. any pack under 90lbs feels like an over sized cotton ball on my back. lmao. Very useful comments, thanks for the advice, every ounce does count! 👍🏼💞🤗.

Dam my pcp pellet rifle aint this quiet. Can it be stowed with a full mag in it. That thing with the Volquartsen firefly bolt and some CCI Quiets would be insane. Cool  love the way ya travell, i did 11weeks of Asia with 20liter bag  and still had stuff with me i didend use, love the freedom ya got with a small bag, no extra fee's on plans, when ya come in a  town or leave  ya can jsut take your bag with you without turning back to the hostel for a pickup, keep it up chica.

World At Arms Hack Cheat - AppsnCheats. 22 rifles could be easily bought here years ago, but now it's a lot harder. 22 are deadly altough muricuns will pretend you need a 75 cannon to defend yourself. That's not insanely quiet. I've been following and watching your blogs for some time now and I always enjoy them! I'm also going to Malaysia and Singapore this summer for a missions trip so this video is so helpful.

Is this you I will be back for more. Magpul needs to make the same style stock for the Ruger PC Carbine. The Dog at 1:39 is a crackup. I agree wholeheartedly with this video though. She said cut cheese. You should duck tape some extra batteries in that stock compartment. I always bring a hatchet and saw when I hike. It isn't for wood but in case I run across other hikers and feel the need to decapitate them. The country came out in your voice when you said lighter and fire. LOL, I am from Alabama as well, no worries.

So what you're saying is, essentially, Stay on the trail, and don't get lost

Official Site, Norton - Antivirus & Cybersecurity. When I backpack I take sneakers, sandals, 3 sets of clothing + a medium thickness jacket. Where did you get your sweater and scarf from. Very cool. For a survival gun though, I would prefer an over/under 12 or 20 gauge. 22 combo gun. 1LINE one-stroke puzzle game I wish Ruger would make the 10/22 in a Mag version! I would make it a lot more versatile as a Survival Rifle.

Radius the rear of the bolt then it'll cycle

On a backpack gun hunt, the military GSW bandages are legit

My leatherman goes with me everywhere. It saved my life once. War Eagle Dixie. Does it take glock magazines. just kidding! Impressive little 10 22. Mac a neat idea can you do a beat up 10/22 and turn it into a shooter? New magpul stock new barrel with your resources I loved to see a longer range 10/22. I know you have been looking around nwi for cheap firearm.

Your absolutely right. The path to innerpeace is a slow process! 👌

I love how a 22 sound kind of like a paintball gun when it's suppressed. On a 5 mile in and out camp I brought something like 80 lbs. of crap for a two night camp. 😝. This seems like advice to use in best case scenarios only. You go this barebone pray nothing goes off the rails. Going on the World Race in October! Haha obviously I don't have to worry a whole lot about packing just yet, but these are some great tips for when the time comes! Thank you. I hope realize how appreciated your honesty & integrity are. When my dad died at 10 I've not had anyone in person to be a role model. I'm proud tell people you are one of mine, and being a Californian arguing for 2nd amendment rights, I can say that your no BS stands Ive seen in your videos have served me from memory, in multiple debates. Thank you for the hours of entertainment and leadership from afar, your 3 boys are lucky to have you.

I never get tired that industrial rock intro. Love it 👌 I love the 10/22 takedown. What a sweet setup. Gotta have it. Well done. The more you know the less you pack. I'm subscribing.   Wait, did you say ladder or lighter. Did anybody else like the dog taking a leak in the background. keeping it awesome and out doors. Great video and awesome tips! One thing I won't go without is a lightweight pair of leather or similar GLOVES! Always use them. It's easier if you just set up camp in your back yard, that way you're close to you kitchen, bathtoom, and computer or TV. I truly believe that backpacking rifle would be awesome in ! Something to consider Hugh. For non buggy places like the desert I ditch the tent all together and sleep under the stars. I bring a tarp just incase it looks like rain.

Just because black bears usually run away, does not mean they all behave that way. That attitude gets people in trouble in BEAR country! If you hike, camp, or otherwise spend time in bear country do yourself a favor and take a reputable bear awareness course so you can form your own opinion about what is and what isn't necessary. I'd be more worried if I encountered a curious, or especially predatory black bear than a defensive grizzly. Of course there are circumstances where it isn't necessary and 99% of the time it isn't needed, kind of like a seatbelt in a car. Unnecessary, until it saves your life. Bear bells are both highly annoying and ineffective though, they can absolutely stay on this list.

Words of wisdom. I'm for two light sources, reason. I was in an AT shelter by myself one night, stormy and extremely dark, when my Mag light bulb blew.(old school) If you don't know where they store the spare bulb in a Mag light, it's in the butt end of the flashlight under the spring, if that doesn't make it hard enough to find, the bulb is the size of a grape seed with two wire prongs on it. So what you have to do is, remove the end cap, remove the spring, locate the spare bulb, remove the bulb, replace the spring, place the end cap back on. Remove the lens cap and remove the burned out bulb and replace with the new bulb, to replace the bulb you have to try to put the two wire prongs into the two tiny holes, all the while doing this by feel in the dark. I have to say, it was truly an exciting moment when I got those two prongs in the holes. So carry two sources of light, or an extra hiking buddy. AT 88/93.

Serving in the Luftwaffe my gear I had to carry was 32kg plus the 3,7kg rifle. Going on 3 day marches was the best time of my life. It needs to be a 22 magnum. (3 times) the gun. Obviously you dont over do it, I agree with some of your list. but the idea behind bringing a lot of the things you mentioned is that youre prepared for the unlikely. The Boy Scout Motto is “Be Prepared” for a reason. Its not likely that a two day trip turns into a month of survival in the wild, or a routine hike turns into a cougar attack on your buddy. If I have to carry a couple more pounds in order to ensure that everyone is safe and we have means to survive. Then its worth it. Having a trauma kit and quick clot on hand in particular is important.

How to enter the Cheat Codes. With that barrel its definitely not California legal. Omg girl i am SOOOOO beyond pleased I found you. My vote is on the manually operated keystone crickett.

Another cool gun that I am envious of. I would love for you to do a gun collection video some time I think it would make a great video.

Wow, feeling guilty about having a mug. ha

I am going to New Orleans, LA for a mission trip with Adventures in June then I will be going on the World race with Adventures in January 2019. Love alan watts. Played with one of those stocks at shotshow. I loved everything about it. Except for the built in beard removal system. every time I shouldered it, it was yanking out cheek whiskers. 1:46 background! LMAO! Love the dog. Julia, l'm loving this outro music. Loving it. Seriously guys, being a Patreon member for MAC has already paid for my subscription for the year, or more. the deals he gives us are incredible. You get no feedback from the target because, the 22 just does not have enough power to over power the springs in the target. I'm going to Guatemala for a month with AIM in June. Super excited! Thanks for the tips.

Good advice for beginners. My axe is my luxury item though 😀.

OMG! That is just such a beautiful bit of kit

First time watching your channel. I plan on backpacking Machu Picchu when I get back to the states so I appreciate the tips. In the military we often pack quite a bit more than we actually need so this was refreshing. I saw a dog take a piss in the background and liked the video immediately. I think a good snakebite kit is really important. It can save your life and if you need one and you haven't got one... When exactly did you go to thailand that it was cold? Im going march to april. Are you from America? Because you should like you have an accent, it's pretty. Besides the afore mentioned duct tape, I also like to carry ~10-15 feet of the free twine from 'Home Depot' and a 6-10 zip tie.

You nailed it on every item especially on the stuff sack. Great vid

Any suggestion for someone walking from florida to mass. Bare minimum, 5-10 items love your channel. . The dog peeing was classic Auburn University commentary. Pfft the multi tool is always a must you never know when you might meet some cute chick with a couple of screws loose the screw driver comes in handy. You're living the dream my friend. Best wishes to all shooters in the USA from the shooters in the UK. 6:27. You carry a ladder? For hard to reach fruit or what. Wow your gorgeous. 😍 girl crush haha. thanks for the video, very helpfully. I love your videos. For total wilderness trips, the cell phone can go. There are no towers. On a thru hike, yes its handy. Badass rifle. I like my things organized. However I have a stone Glacier pack and use their pull out camp pockets then a couple stuff wet bags for clothes/ sleep system need pad for the wife.

I definitely disagree on the ferro rod. While it's true that the two mini Bics I carry do most of my firestarting (one in my cook kit, one in my ditty bag) the additional weight of a ferro rod in my ditty bag is negligible. OTOH, long distance hiking is not really my thing, now that I have a permanently injured knee, and I use a hammock and tarp, rather than a bombproof tent or cramped bivy sack. And I'm not giving up my 1 oz. bottles of Dr. Bronner's soap and Sal Suds, or my bottle of isopropanol, which I use for all purpose cleaning and disinfecting. The biggest thing I think you missed is the big honkin' water purifier. I've had one for 20 years, and never really needed it much. I do carry a small fixed-blade knife, but no saw, hatchet, or axe, and definitely no multi-tool, even though I own very nice examples of all of them. They are just too heavy. Most places, you can't cut firewood, anyway, and even if I did find myself in a real survival scenario, my knife has been used to baton a whole Vermont winter's worth of kindling. I'm confident it will get me out of a tough spot. It's my two inch Swiss Army knife that sees the most duty, mainly for the scissors.

For a camp towel, try using a Sham-Wow type material. I have a 12 x 12 square and it weighs practically nothing. Much more absorbent than a bandana. I use it to dry my feet after a creek crossing, or any other part of my body, dry my tarp in the morning, dry my cup and cook pot before packing it up, etc etc. Not in that way LOL. Very cool, accuracy? You said you were shooting at steel on the second mag but I didn't here any steel plink. I live where we speak with a different accent. I was hearing ladder when you were talking about lighter. I was really puzzled HAHA.

You look beautiful <3 From where is your shirt you're wearing. Hey! Thais is the first video of yours and I love it! You're so inspiring and I Love the way you talk. I thank the moon that I found your channel! Thanks. I love your teeth. Could this go through a zombies head? A watermelon. This video gave me the will power to travel outside my house. Well said. Here in Norway its a little different as we need to process larger amounts of firewood, so a good saw and axe is essential and a lighter is unreliable in cold weather. Omg i wanna have one of this 😍. I like her expression. WoW! Nice Video. No I r o n sights. Your face is a clickbait. Nice rig Sir. @formatC2 Loved your Get Out and Live video. Thanks for the comment and sub.

Mora knives are very light and inexpensive like 15US but fairly robust 3-4 oz. Am really really digging that stock. This is the greatest 10/22 build I have ever seen. I have electric airsoft guns that are louder. gas ones are much louder obviously. I'll always take a Silky f180 saw. Super light, super efficient and super packable. I'll always take a 4+ inch (preferably 5 or 6inch) fixed blade knife. I'll always take a headlamp and pocket edc light combo (Zebralight sc62w series or Lighter weight Olight combo. For a camp trowel I use a 2 aluminium snow peg, about 22cms long. Can always use it as a secure tent 's intended purpose but It's great at digging and super 15 grams? The specialised trowel you mentioned is like 55 to get here in its heavier and not necessarily better than the snow/sand peg. which is 2! For a towel. Sham Wow 60cm x 40cm. That stuff soaks up and expells h20 beautifully.

I am travelling to the Dominican Republic to build water filters with an organization called Wine to Water. I will be going to the DR in early June; it's less than one month away! I am very excited! Thank you Julia; you have really inspired me to go on my first aboard mission trip, hence the reason I am going to the DR. Dog peeing behind you. lol. So useful! We want to get into backpacking and its great to learn what gear isnt really a necessity. Thanks for the information 💕. 11/12/2010 Recently I have been going through my bank stuff, wondering where my budget could have been off, and noticed many, and I mean MANY double charges, and sometimes even triple charges... I guess a pound of pot is ok as I never heard that gear on the list and after all HAPPY TRAILS ARE SMOKING TRAILS.

Facebook Business: Marketing on Facebook. Good Video. I pre-ordered one of these (Gray color) stocks in January. So far only the black & FDE stocks have been released. The O.D. Gray are still on back-order. 1:19 - hehe, don't drop it Someone's been handling a lot of sigs recently. ‎Coin Master on the App Store. Hey, your video has super helped, thank you I appreciate it :P I've searched everything i can think of to find a vegetable spiralizer blade but only the machine types are showing, do you happen to know of a website i can find them?X.

I started doing just this after I watched this video for the first time, about a year ago. Thank you for your video and motivating us to get out and actually do it. Really like your work. You could use that Auburn shirt as a fire starter. ประเทศไทยมีขายไหม น่อ อยากได้. Wow so happy you came to Thailand it's my country it's kind of hot though but I hope you enjoyyyyyy. Great video. I just purchased a 10/22 takedown that's stock that I will do a video on. That a great looking mag oil stock. There's so much more space for activities. A 617 and a trained shooter. But seriously, a. 410. 22LR combo rifle/shotgun.

Any chance of this in 5.7. Thanks heaps helped alot... ill make sure to keep your PACK LESS saying in my head as best as i can while packing. i always try and always FAIL at the word LESS hahaha. off to Thailand in August 2019) still a few months away but so keen so ready... now just counting down the days hahaha P.S 288 days lmao xx thanks again x. Stick of firesteel (ferro-rod) and a cotton ball soaked in vaseline saved me and a freind from getting hypothermia and allowed me to start an emergency fire with impaired motorskills in a bad cold soaked to the bone situation one time. Literally two quick strikes off the wet rod onto my cotton starter and I instantly had a flame to build a small fire under a sheltered boulder. It's a cheap fail safe and available in very light small sizes, will always have it in my pack. Oh and if anyone decides to carry one, please teach yourself how to use it first could save your hide in a sticky situation.

Other than the barrel being suppressed, it looks like something Ruger should offer from the factory. Geez with that voice you would be first thing Id lose. I also save weight by ditching my pants. But, I tend to get arrested quit often. I've never been a huge fan of semi-automatic rifles, and I have no real opinion on synthetic furniture. I'm more of a stained redgum Cz452 kind of bloke. But this setup. this is the first time a semi-auto. 22LR rifle has actually caught my eye. That is an insanely nice rifle.

Great video Love The Channel been watching The videos for years. I always wanted a 10/22. You can do so much customization with The Ruger 10/22. Nice Rifle. Would you check that in or have it as a carry on.

Anyone else see the smoke coming out of the rifle at 9:20. Pretty cool little rifle. One ghing that always makes me smile to myself tho is how someone would refer to a rifle in particular OR pistol as a survival rifle? I mean aren't ALL firearms survival tho? When used properly anyway. Really enjoying ur video's, thank u for doing them.👍😎🤙. Man that wood make a grate squirrel gun i like that stock nice rig. Great review, I am really curious about how accurate it is. My 10/22 takedown with tactical solutions kit is not accurate at all, I'd like to see you shoot this with several types of ammo for accuracy. and screw @youtube for killing monetization on gun channels. I am moving over to the alternate site for gun videos. You should cross post there.

That is an incredibly nifty setup, I've always planned on building a 10/22 someday, and I'll probably be referring to this video when I get around to it. I'm thinking that a camo paint job would make that stock really look cool. You mentioned that that MIST-22 barrel is pretty lightweight. Don't carry Band-Aids, a tube of superglue takes care of about 50 Band-Aid size boo boos. Somethings I agree with, somethings I won't leave without. My personal choice. I don't care if you are in grizzly country or not, I'd really have some sort or pepper spray. Not just for the 4 legged furry critters either. Ferrel Rod/firestarter. I think it's worth the weight. It has the potential to be a life saver (same goes as spray. Other than that. I'd say your pretty right on. Though I would carry some sort of saw/hatchet. But that's my only optional item I guess. Good video, very interesting.

Coming back to just say. I'd probably end up looking like a Hobbit. carrying pots, pans, sausages hanging sausages and a hole bunch of other non essentials. LOL. I love your style at all 🌵❣. Trek pole went first. Eotech 1-6 vudu? In the future. My luxury item while Backpacking is a small bottle of vodka & a tablet to watch a film on ! lol.

NO TOWEL. Obviously you've never read the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. The towel is the only item you really need. That sounds like it has one hell of a first round pop. Is that just the cameras microphone. I think there should be a distinction made that this is for through hiking. Essentially a several day long trail hike. This is very different from exploring, fishing, and bushcraft style trips. Would be cool if it came in 10mm or 45. It needs a cupholder for a Monster can, JK 👍😉. Knife, lighter, tin cup. K, I'm ready. I'll throw in a roll of TP, just to keep the other stuff from clanking. Chad at IV8888 is probably raging now, coz your ninja 10/22 build is cooler than his. The gap between your incisors made you pretty. Cute 😤. You seem really cool and I like how you are not all about bringing everything and distractions, you enjoy the trip. It would be cool to go travelling with you :D.

I saw an Ocarina! 😱❤. More than once you advocate just using the smartphone as the primary piece of camera gear. Oddly, you don't mention how you keep your smart device's battery charged! Personally, I use a Nekteck 21W Solar charger. That keeps the smart device charged and all the batteries in the headlamp and one handheld torch. My smart phone only holds a charge for about 48 hour even when powered off so if I'm on the trail longer than that or should I use it and forget to turn it off at least I can charge up and carry on. Yup, its heavy but then so is the large caliber personal protection device that accompanies all my solo trips. I trade off the weight of these items by using lightweight shoes for trekking... I'm done with heavy boots. For every pound you take off of your feet, it's like losing 5 pounds off of your Good videos though, so keep it up and safe travels.

A. 22 is not a survival rifle. Go with somthing a little bigger. A. 223 would be better choice. You can still take small game. You can get bigger game more easily. And it still light enough and small enough to carrey alot of ammo. Plus you can get things out to longer distance. And the protection aspects is better then. 22 as well. Oh ur one of those. Ok. Great video. Here is some tips for wetter, harsh climates. I was just about to recommend a sit pad then you beat me to it. I'd only recommend big fires in winter and or drying clothes. Small fires requires you to put you're clothes close to the flame. Bad idea. I camp in the Highlands Scotland UK. Everything is wet so I use tea light candles, works everytime. I drink water straight from the streams with no ill effect so far with common sense. I believe Dry sacks are a must where I hike, due to the moisture in the air. And no Down. Duck feather sleeping bags because they will absorb moisture no matter what you use. I've learned the hard way and so have many others who do the west Highland 94mile walk. In certian seasons. I Use a 4 season synthetic sleeping bag. Yes it's heavier but it's more suitable. Pack a bag no bigger then a 40litre bag for a week hike. Always practice smaller hikes first. Because it's good practice to find out what suits you. Max weight should be 12kg, MOST the lighter the better in tough terrain. I also recommend some wiskey, I don't care what the science says you will sleep warmer with a shot of wiskey in you. Don't get big water bottles. I cheap plastic bottle can be crushed down into you're bag and filled up at streams or rivers. Pack light food with high calories. Dehydrated foods, beef Jerry, olive oil, nuts, oats, and noodles. Take some line, and hooks to do some fishing to keep food rashon going. Hope these tips help.

Thank you! You're the first minimalist' packer that actually packs minimalistic. 28L pack rocks. Most on YouTube are using 50L packs and calling themselves minimalist. You did it and you rock. I carry a 35L pack myself with room to pack something home. Most people seem to believe SE Asia has no laundry! Good job. As a dude, I'm confused on the bra; like do I still bring it. Love this video and your personality. Did you use a converter for your power strip. I just stumbled upon your channel and ADORE you! vegan, minimalist, into travelling, what a combo! D :D. I go to the gym but I dont think its enough. I am totally 100% for people being whatever weight they want to be, but yeah some peoples packs are outrageously heavy. I'm concerned about everyone that wont be physically able to take care of themselves in a bug out situation. Its not just overweight people... what about physically handicapped or frail elderly? I mean a lot of these people live with minimal outside care. Many elderly live on their own. I will never forget watching the Japan Tsunami vids where some of the elderly people are trying to get away from the rapidly approaching flood water. It was devastating to see. I'm going to do this next weekend. I live in an urban area and will backpack down to the beach. see how it goes.

Second, the solutions I propose are probably not the best, but with this you can. A great trick someone once told me when trying to lighten my load was to: A) Empty out my pack on the bed or the floor of my home. B) Separate everything into three piles; Definitely Need, Might Need, Probably Don't Need. C) Pack everything in the Definitely Need pile into your pack. D) Go hiking. E) Repeat until pack is of acceptable weight. At first I scoffed at this, but I was surprised at just how much stuff I was able to cull once I realized that no, I didn't need XYZ and if the rare situation happened that I did I could improvise around not having it. True, I am guilty of slipping a few comfort items into the Definitely Need pile, but my pack shrunk significantly after just two hikes.

Not give up my Mora knife. I just think the sub 2k and a glock 17 couldn't get any better for bug out and or a survival combo All though I do have a Marlin mod. 60 along with the SR22 as well. I will have to settle for a stock 10/22 no silencer or sub 18 barrel in Canada. But then you aren't training for backpacking. There's an Army training principle, Train as you fight. Without the weight strapped to my hips, without my core stabilizing the load, I won't get much real world training benefit that mimics a ruck march. Definitely a cardio builder, though, but for 7-10 miles? I think yours is a great alternate technique for training on a treadmill, indoors, like during bad weather. Useful advice! Thanks.

Massively multiplayer online game. PC Game Trainers, Cheat Happens. Do you think a 55L backpack is ok for carry on luggage.

Question. How much you paid for that rifle

This makes perfect sense. I never really had thought about having to ruck to my secondary rally point in case of an emergency. While the first rally point is just five+ from my house are secondary is almost 30+ miles away. That would suck if I wasnt prepared for that. So, thanks again for thinking outside the box on this one and helping us prepare for situation like this. I agreed with most of those things except for the multitool. I found using the multitool to be helpful because of medical reasons.

I've tried to do this, and I like ruck marching, but it's a real pain trying to get up early enough to do this. My pack of choice is the Large Alice, weighing in around 60 lbs. The hand axe is actually one of my most multipurpose and useful bits of kit (hammer axe - with hammer top - see pic) because it is your trowel (shovel) your self defence (better than a small knife) it's also your cutting / chopping tool, your tent peg hammer and remover, and it chops wood, kindling or bigger. Where is your day bag from. HA! Great video. Extra spot on to me since, while watching your vid, I'm feeling the blisters on my feet from doing the exact same last night. I went out and did a roughly 10 km walk, took me two hours to complete. That's including sitting down and taping my feet with duct tape. (Which is a great pro tip if you didn't know already: When you feel the first brun of a blister coming up. stop walking right then and there and tape the area of the beginning blister up with duct tape. Works like a charm. The tape is smooth which reduces the rubbing and it acts as a second skin. I quess you could also tape your feet before starting your walk, haven't done that yet.)
